Advocate says Islamophobia report alone won’t fix problem without action
Sharara Attai from Islamophobia Register Australia has told SBS there is an urgent need to act on a landmark report into the threat of Islamophobia.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says the government will “carefully consider” its 54 recommendations, which call for action across all major government agencies.
Ms Attai has warned that real structural and systemic change is required before trust can be restored within Muslim communities towards government.
