Swedish MEP Charlie Weimers who is a conservative politician, asked the EU chamber to pause for a moment of silence during his speech.
He said “The murder of political activist Charlie Kirk, loving father, patriot has shocked the world.”
“Please stand with me in reflection and prayer in his honour and I yield the rest of my time for a moment of silence.”
When Weimer gave up his remaining speaking time, Vice President of the European Parliament, Katarina Barley cancelled his request.
