During an Oval Office meeting with Poland’s president, Donald Trump addressed a recent U.S. military strike on a vessel he said had departed Venezuela, carrying members of the Tren de Aragua gang and large quantities of narcotics. Trump told reporters the strike stopped drugs “coming into our country to kill a lot of people,” adding, “They were hit, obviously, and they won’t be doing it again.” He framed the action as part of his broader border security agenda, accusing Venezuela of being “very bad both in terms of drugs and sending the worst criminals from anywhere in the world into our country.”
