French students, workers and pensioners launch nationwide protests on a weekday
Thousands of union members and protesters supporting students marched in Marseille on Thursday (Nov 5), on a day of nationwide strikes and demonstrations to demand concrete measure from the government.
The protesters marched through French cities and public workers went on strike in a renewed challenge to President Emmanuel Macron after weeks of unrest that have rattled his government five months before a presidential election.
