U.S. midterms make it harder for Trump to help Kremlin – Amb. John Herbst | Ukraine Brief
The European Commission is hosting a high-level meeting in Brussels on Wednesday, convening representatives from Ukraine, the United States, NATO, and European allies. Top on the agenda is a post-war reconstruction and security framework for Kyiv. EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos has also said that all remaining EU negotiation clusters for Ukraine are expected to be opened by the end of the year and Ukraine’s accession to the European Union could become part of a future peace agreement with Russia. This comes as the death toll from Russia’s Monday bombing of an aid distribution center in the Zaporizhzhia region has risen to 40. Rescue teams have entered their third day of searching for more than 30 people who remain trapped under the rubble.
To discuss this and more, Ukraine Brief host Ashim Kumar is joined by John E. Herbst, Senior Director, Atlantic Council Eurasia Center and Former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine.
