Eastern Cape woman with disability appeals for secure housing

An Eastern Cape woman living with a disability is appealing for a house to improve her deplorable living conditions.

Forty-year-old Nomaphelo Melakhe was born with a disability that affected her mobility.

She lives with her mother in a dilapidated shack in Tsholomnqa Village.

The family relies on a government grant, with some of the money going towards paying people who assist them with daily tasks.

SABC News reporter Hlumisa Qabaka filed this report from Tsholomnqa Village, Eastern Cape.
