N West sewage disposal is at crisis level: Dr Jack Bloom

The Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation, Dr Jack Bloom says the ongoing raw sewage pollution from the non-functional Toevlug Sewer Pump Station in Ventersdorp in North West is at crisis level.

Dr Bloom conducted an oversight visit at the sewer pump station after a criminal case was opened against the JB Marks Local Municipality’s Municipal Manager, Kgomotso Kumbe, over the municipality’s failure to address ongoing raw sewage pollution from the Sewer Pump Station into the Schoonspruit River, which feeds the Vaal River system.
