Acclaimed British screen and stage titan Sir Patrick Stewart has passed away at the age of 86 at his Los Angeles home. Best known for his defining roles as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men franchise, the prolific actor died peacefully in the loving care of his wife Sunny following a private, poignant journey with Alzheimer’s disease and Lewy Body Dementia. Surrounded by family, music, and prayer in his final hours, Stewart leaves behind an extraordinary 60-year career spanning the Royal Shakespeare Company to global blockbuster cinema, with his final performance in Avengers: Doomsday set to serve as a posthumous tribute. His passing comes just days after the death of fellow Star Trek original cast member Walter Koenig, marking a heartbreaking week for sci-fi fans worldwide.
