Watch #Poland’s record-breaking #overpass take shape
Poland’s highest overpass is halfway completed, with construction progressing on a major section of the S19 expressway in the country’s southeastern Subcarpathia region.
The structure stretches 1,082 meters between Babica and Jawornik, rising up to 80 meters above the surrounding terrain. Its concrete supports alone require 51,800 cubic meters of concrete, equivalent to more than 20 Olympic-sized swimming pools.
Once completed, the S19 expressway will connect areas near Białystok, close to the Belarusian border, with Slovakia’s border, improving transport links across southeastern Poland.
