Congress will ‘undermine’ the law if they get involved in Ilhan Omar case
Former House Judiciary Committee chief counsel Julian Epstein says it was agreed upon long ago by Republicans and Democrats that Congress would “step back” if a criminal investigation was being explored by the Justice Department.
“If there is a legitimate criminal investigation being conducted by a law enforcement agency such as the Justice Department, that Congress would step back,” Mr Epstein told News24 host Elizabeth Pipko.
“All Congress can do is sort of interfere in a way that undermines the rule of law.”
