Man charged after threatening MP staff with nunchucks | 7NEWS
A 56-year-old man has been charged with three offences after allegedly storming Western Australian MP Hannah Beazley’s Victoria Park electorate office, demanding to see her and making threats while armed with homemade nunchucks. Beazley, WA’s local government minister and daughter of former deputy PM Kim Beazley, was at parliament during the incident, while two staff members were present behind security screens. The incident highlights growing concerns about threats against politicians, particularly women MPs, with the AFP now charging almost one person weekly with targeting politicians. State parliaments are also reviewing security arrangements.
