If we pause, Putin will find another line of attack | Ben Wallace
NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe, Alexus Grynkewich, used this year’s Warsaw Security Forum to unveil NATO’s “”Theory of Victory”” – a concept that quickly became one of the dominant topics of the gathering. “That statement is definitely a positive thing,” says Ben Wallace, Former British Defence Secretary, in an interview with TVP World.
Wallace is far less convinced however by the idea that NATO will reach full readiness by 2029. In his view, modernizing armed forces takes time and cannot be achieved overnight. “If Russia attacks a NATO country, I guarantee it won’t do so in the way we expect,” he warns, arguing that the Alliance must prepare for threats that may look very different from traditional forms of warfare.
Wallace also weighed in on Brexit, arguing that revisiting the issue would not solve Europe’s core economic and security challenges. While acknowledging Russian attempts to interfere in British politics, he said there is no evidence those efforts changed the outcome of the referendum.
