Shahieda Thungo affectionately known as Makhi is one of the most recognizable faces in the social running community. Makhi is well known for being a bus driver, pacing the sub 12hr finish bus at the Comrades Marathon.
Sowetan’s On the Move caught up with Makhi at the Midrand Striders Half Marathon race where she speaks to us about what is bus driving in the running community, and how running saved her life after going through the loss of her husband, depression and being diagnosed with cancer.
