Tensions run high at two Welkom secondary schools

Angry parents from Welkom High and Welkom Technical High schools handed a list of grievances to the district Department of Education in Welkom.

The parents are demanding the reinstatement of the School Governing Bodies (SGB) at both schools, and the resignation of the principals at the two high schools, together with the District Director.

They are allege that the SGBs in both schools were abruptly removed, despite being democratically elected.
