‘Flexing its muscles’: China sends blunt message with missile test

Otago University International Relations Professor Robert Patman believes China’s message is one of “power projection” following its recent ballistic missile test in the Pacific Ocean.

“They are reminding the world they are the second superpower. It’s a message to the [Pacific] region,” Mr Patman told News24.

“It’s flexing its muscles.”
