Suspected car theif caught after failed escape
Police in the Polish city of Łódź spotted a stolen Hyundai and followed it to a gas station.
The driver locked himself inside, then slammed the car into reverse, smashing an unmarked police vehicle. Officers pulled him out and found the car’s real license plates hidden inside.
The 50 year old man had a record of similar crimes and no valid license. He now faces up to 10 years in prison and will remain in pretrial detention for three months.
