Six Chinese companies plan to expand their operations into South Africa.
Electricity and Energy Minister, Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa is leading a delegation in China to pitch an investment-ready pipeline of energy infrastructure projects.
The government aims to source 40 % of the country’s electricity from renewables by 2030, while lowering power tariffs and driving local job creation through the Integrated Resource Plan.
SABC News economics reporter Katlego Legodi reports that Ramokgopa said the aim is to move quickly from planning to full project execution.
