North West | Alabama residents live with overflowing raw sewage
Residents of Alabama in Klerksdorp in the North West say they are still living with overflowing raw sewage, despite repeated promises to resolve the problem.
They say the persistent spillages pose a serious health risk and highlight ongoing service delivery failures.
Frustrated by the lack of progress, residents have also approached the South African Human Rights Commission, arguing that their constitutional rights are being violated.
They remain heartbroken after one of the community’s most vocal campaigners, Motlalepule Sylvia Mosetlhi, died before seeing a permanent solution.
