Tsietsi Mashinini Community Centre a safe haven for minors


A refugee centre that accommodates mostly unaccompanied minors in Javabu in Soweto is urging for assistance to expedite the process of legalizing the stay of its occupants in the country. Operated by the Methodist Church of Southern Africa – the Tsietsi Mashinini Community Centre has been providing a safe haven for minors for fifty years. It currently has over a hundred residents, housed in a building where power supply was cut off due to historical debt. Pimani Baloyi visited the centre.
