Ireland’s ‘George Floyd moment’ sparks protests
The death of a Black man restrained on the streets of Dublin has caused shock in Ireland, with some protesters calling it the country’s “George Floyd moment.” Irish police are investigating the circumstances around the death of Congolese-born Yves Sakila. The investigation has also been referred to the Irish police ombudsman.
