Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon killed 14 people according to Lebanese health officials, despite a 45-day ceasefire extension announced by the U.S. on May 16. Strikes hit the town of Deir Qanoun al-Nahr, while shelling in Maashouq destroyed the Imam Khomeini Medical Center after an evacuation warning. Israel said the facility was being used by Hezbollah, though residents called its destruction a major humanitarian blow.
