Peru burns more than 11 tons of seized drugs in massive crackdown

Peru incinerated more than 11 tons of drugs seized from organized crime on Thursday (May 21) in a ceremony held in Lima.
According to figures shared by the Anti-Drug Police at the ceremony, security forces have destroyed 272 clandestine drug laboratories and dismantled 52 criminal organizations so far in 2026.
The destroyed substances were confiscated from various locations nationwide.
