‘Disgrace’: Coalition demands antisemitism hearings into ABC

Sky News host Sharri Markson backs calls for the royal commission to probe into Australia’s cultural institutions after the ABC and SBS rejected the IHRA antisemitism definition.

“The coalition has formally asked the Royal Commissioner, Virginia Bell, to set up a block of hearings into Australia’s arts institutions and public broadcasters,” Ms Markson said.

“This comes after the ABC and SBS refused to adopt the IHRA definition of antisemitism, used by 47 countries around the world, including Australia.

“The normalisation of offensive rhetoric in cultural bodies has been a disgrace.

“The Royal Commission should absolutely hold a block of hearings into the plethora of issues just like this.”
