Storm chasers captured dramatic footage of a massive tornado rapidly forming and tearing across central Nebraska near Saint Libory on May 17 as severe thunderstorms swept through the region. The violent twister could be seen widening and intensifying as it carved across open fields, with local reports saying at least three homes suffered significant damage. The National Weather Service warned residents of dangerous conditions throughout the evening, including tornadoes, damaging winds nearing 70 mph, and hail as large as baseballs.
