Pakatan must not to be complacent in Penang stronghold, says Chow

Penang Pakatan Harapan chairman Chow Kon Yeow warned the coalition against complacency despite its long-standing dominance in the state, urging leaders to prepare for a tougher battle in the 16th General Election (GE16).

Speaking at the Pakatan Harapan 2026 Convention on Sunday (May 17), the Penang Chief Minister said shifting voter sentiment, as seen in Sabah, shows past service is no guarantee of victory.

Chow stressed the need for responsible leadership and cautioned that Perikatan Nasional is stepping up efforts to gain ground in Penang, particularly in Malay-majority areas.
