Albanese making a ‘total mockery’ of Australian democracy after federal budget release

Former Queensland premier Campbell Newman says the Albanese government is making a “total mockery” of Australian democracy following the release of the federal budget and broken election promises.

“There’s only two options here mate, it’s either one, he hasn’t got a clue, or he’s lying through his teeth,” Mr Newman told Sky News host Steve Price.

“We know that we’ve got a desperately dishonest prime minister and treasurer, and it is the ultimate low in Australian politics.

“If voters cannot be confident, if there is no trust when you’re hearing what’s said at an election, it makes a total mockery of our democratic process.”
