Madlanga Commission | Discussion with criminologist, Prof. Nirmala Gopal on Mogotsi’s testimony
Madlanga Commissioner Advocate Sesi Baloyi has argued that there is no legitimate basis for claims of bias against the commission’s chief evidence leader, Advocate Matthew Chaskalson.
Baloyi told the inquiry that it was, in fact, North West businessman Brown Mogotsi who first approached Chaskalson, seeking to share information and evidence relating to another North West businessman, Suleiman Carrim, who is a key witness before the commission.
Prof. Nirmala Gopal, a criminologist from the University of KwaZulu-Natal weighs in.
