High Court triples Bangladeshi worker’s jail term for molesting five women on LRT and MRT

A Bangladeshi construction worker, who molested five women across multiple LRT and MRT stations in Kuala Lumpur, has had his sentence sharply increased by the High Court.

Md Romjan Ali, 41, was originally sentenced to six months in jail and a RM14,500 fine by four Magistrates’ Courts but Justice Datuk Aslam Zainuddin overturned that decision, replacing it with 18 months in prison and one stroke of the cane.
