Two cold fronts hit Western Cape
Two cold fronts have hit the Western Cape back-to-back, with the first making landfall on Sunday.
The South African Weather Service says the stronger of the two fronts is expected on Monday. It predicts severe weather conditions, with high rainfall, strong winds, rough seas and possible storm surges.
Authorities in the province are bracing for tough conditions, with joint operations centres activated from the city to the provincial level.
