Eastern Cape hit by heavy rains and floods
Residents in low-lying areas near the mouth of the Eastern Cape’s Kromme River mouth have been asked to evacuate their homes as water bodies burst the banks due to heavy rains.
The Kouga Municipality has already evacuated 40 people from the Kingsway Village who were trapped in the Gamtoos River Valley.
The Kouga area has been hit hard by heavy rains this week, causing significant damage to property.
