Andrews government accused of turning police into a ‘weapon against the people’ during pandemic

IPA Deputy Executive Director Daniel Wild details how the leadership of the Victorian Police was “coopted” by the Daniel Andrews government during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The police need the tools to get the job done, and if they’re catching people that they’ve released or they’re not being put away the way they should, then that’s going to demoralise the police,” Mr Wild told Sky News host Rita Panahi.

“The other thing the frontline police are dealing with is terrible police leadership … Victoria Police allowed themselves to be coopted by the Daniel Andrews government and turned into a weapon against the people during Covid.”
