The Chinese Foreign Ministry said minister Wang Yi told his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi during their bilateral meeting in Beijing on May 6 that China is committed to de-escalating tensions, reducing hostilities, and playing a greater role in restoring peace and stability to the Middle East.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he hoped China would tell Iran what it is doing in the Strait of Hormuz is causing Tehran to be globally isolated.
