UPI to link with Vietnam’s payment systems soon: PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a joint press statement with the President of Vietnam, To Lam, highlighted the growing strategic and economic partnership between India and Vietnam. He announced that India’s UPI and Vietnam’s fast payment systems will soon be linked, marking a major step in digital financial cooperation between the two nations.
PM Modi also emphasized strengthening state-to-state and city-to-city collaborations, and described Vietnam as a key pillar of India’s Act East Policy and Vision for the Indo-Pacific region. He reaffirmed both countries’ shared commitment to peace, stability, rule of law, and prosperity through enhanced defence and security cooperation.
The Prime Minister further expressed gratitude to Vietnam for condemning the Pahalgam terror attack and supporting India’s stand against terrorism. He noted that India and Vietnam, as fast-growing economies, are driven by reforms, governance, and talent, and will continue to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors.
