Residents in Gqeberha are bracing for severe weather as the South African Weather Service has issued a Yellow Level 6 warning for disruptive thunderstorms.
The heavy downpour is expected to come overnight into morning.
In January this year, widespread floods led to a national disaster declaration, while deadly storms in June 2025 claimed dozens of lives.
Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious as conditions could worsen rapidly.
