A protester climbed the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge on May 1, calling for an end to the war with Iran and a global ban on artificial intelligence. The man, identified as Guido Reichstadter, scaled the 168-foot structure and has remained there as of May 3. The Metropolitan Police Department said the situation is ongoing, with negotiators continuing efforts to resolve the standoff while the protester refuses to come down until his demands are met.
