Fears over a fresh U.S. bombing campaign in the Gulf war have pushed global oil prices to levels not seen since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Crude was trading at more than $126 per barrel after reports emerged that Washington is looking to swap the ceasefire for further strikes. In return, Iran has threatened painful attacks on U.S. positions.
