Gauteng faces shortage of schools

The Gauteng Education Department says it will require over 30 billion rand to build the 200 schools needed in the province.

Briefing the media in Johannesburg, MEC Lebogang Maile said the lack of sufficient schools in the province has led to overcrowding.

Almost half the schools in the province are currently overcrowded.
