Memorial held to mark 30th anniversary of Port Arthur massacre | ABC NEWS


Around 160 people have gathered at Port Arthur’s Memorial Garden to mark the 30th anniversary of the Port Arthur tragedy.

On this day in 1996, 35 people were killed and almost two dozen wounded by a lone gunman.

The ceremony included a speech by survivor Jane Scholefield, followed by a minute’s silence and an opportunity for wreath laying.
