Ryota Haga lost his family home in the 2011 tsunami in northeastern Japan. Now the 31-year-old volunteer firefighter is battling to save his new home from a wildfire that has raged for six days and counting, burning more than 1,600 hectares (3,954 acres) of forest. Some 1,400 firefighters from across Japan and Self Defence Force helicopters have been deployed to try to contain the fire, but as of April 27, there are no prospects of getting it under control.
