Armed Secret Service agents rushed into the Washington Hilton on April 25 after gunshots were reported during the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner. Video from the scene showed a heavy security response and attendees being evacuated from the hotel, including House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, who departed on a medical scooter due to a prior ankle injury. Authorities escorted President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and Cabinet members out of the ballroom as a precaution.
