DISCUSSION | SA’s AI Policy Draft under scrutiny – Steven Fidley and Dr Lavina Ramkissoon
Government’s plans to regulate artificial intelligence in South Africa are under scrutiny, after an explosive investigation by News24 revealed that parts of the country’s Draft National AI Policy may be built on fictitious research. The report found that several academic references cited in the policy simply do not exist, raising concerns that AI-generated content may have been used without proper verification. Dr. Lavina Ramkissoon – Ambassador and Co-Chair African Union (AU-ASRIC and AU6R), Also known as AI MOM.
