ON CAM: Iran BOMBS Oil Refinery In Pro-U.S. Gulf Region? Erbil Rocked By Explosions As Tensions Rise
Hours after Iran threatened to blow up Gulf energy sites, massive explosions struck an oil refinery in Erbil, the capital of Iraq’s Kurdistan region, on Wednesday. A video circulating on social media appears to show a large fire erupting at the refinery following the blasts, News.Az reports. The cause of the explosions, as well as the extent of any damage or possible casualties, has not yet been confirmed. Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that U.S. President Donald Trump blocked the delivery of nearly $500 million in proceeds from Iraqi oil sales and froze security cooperation programs with Iraq’s military until local authorities take steps to dismantle armed groups.
