Obstacle investigation in Kevin Warsh’s Federal Chair confirmation

Democrat lobbyist Niki Carelli spoke on the ongoing tensions in Washington surrounding the confirmation process for Kevin Warsh and highlighted the role of partisan concerns and ongoing investigations.

“There is at least one republican senator that is incredibly upset at the investigation that the white house has launched into the current Fed chair, Jerome Powell, into allegations that he lied about rehabilitation of the Federal Reserve building,” Ms Carelli told Sky News Australia.

“Thom Tillis of North Carolina said that he will not vote to confirm Kevin Walsh as long as that investigation is ongoing.

“There are discussions about potentially trying to find an off-ramp, so turning that DOJ investigation into some other form of inquiry in order to remove that obstacle.”
