Two IDF Soldiers Detained After Damage to Christian Statue in Lebanon

The Israel Defence Forces have replaced a statue of Jesus that was vandalised in Southern Lebanon.

An investigation determined that one IDF soldier caused the damage to the Christian religious symbol in Debel, while another soldier took photographs of the incident.

Two soldiers will serve 30 days of detention and be removed from combat duties. The remaining personnel involved will face separate disciplinary measures.

The IDF expressed regret over the incident on X and stated it is taking measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
