Bovet Primary School | Overcrowding leaves parents concerned
Parents and community members in Alexandra, north of Johannesburg, have shut down Bovet Primary School. No teaching and learning took place today as tensions flared over long‑standing problems at the school. The community says overcrowding, poor infrastructure and a lack of resources have affected learners for years. They claim the situation dates back to 2009, with nearly three‑thousand learners impacted. A memorandum has been handed to the Gauteng Department of Education, calling for urgent intervention.
