A humanoid robot has beaten the human record for the world’s fastest half-marathon by finishing in just over 50 minutes.
Dozens of Chinese-made robots displayed their autonomous navigation capabilities and structural reliability in a race against human runners.
Professor Jenny Waycott says the purpose of the event was to demonstrate the robots’ cooling technology and ability to handle challenging conditions, which could pave the way for robots to be deployed in dangerous working environments.
