Meet the experts behind the incredible photos from NASA’s Artemis II mission
The crew of NASA’s Artemis II lunar flyby not only set a record for space travel, but they also gave the world some incredible photography, offering a new look at the cosmos from a human perspective.
The images of the far side of the moon, an Earthrise and a total lunar eclipse — beamed back during the mission — allowed the public to follow along as it unfolded.
Two NASA photography experts, Paul Reichardt and Katrina Willoughby, can be thanked for that.
The duo were tasked with ensuring the crew’s camera skills were up to scratch, and they say they were impressed with the quality of the images the astronauts captured.
