Typhoon Ragasa leaves trail of destruction in Taiwan
Fifteen people have died after an overflowing river, caused by a burst barrier, destroyed a bridge and flooded a rural area in Taiwan. The natural dam was formed by landslides triggered by heavy rain as the outer rim of Super Typhoon Ragasa crossed Taiwan. Hong Kong and mainland China are among the regions now bracing for heavy rain and extremely strong winds as this year’s most powerful tropical cyclone approaches.
