Never ending flow of guns, ammo and drugs
Law enforcement in the Western Cape has confiscated 223 illegal guns and arrested 76 suspects in connection with this during the month of September. Police Minister Firoz Cachalia told parliament last week that he is seeking interventions to weaken gangs by cutting off their access to firearms but eNCA’s Ayesha Ismail reports that eight men arrested on Monday for being in possession of AK-47s and handguns in a flat in Bellville had charges withdrawn against them the very next day.
