United Nations condemns attacks on peacekeepers in Lebanon

The United Nations has condemned attacks on Indonesian peacekeepers killed in separate incidents in southern Lebanon, amid escalating violence linked to the Israel-Hezbollah conflict.

UN peacekeeping chief Jean-Pierre Lacroix said the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in Lebanon is investigating “to determine the circumstances of these tragic developments”.

He added the UN remains “seriously concerned” over a string of aggressive incidents targeting UNIFIL personnel in recent days.
